A truly amazing mineral specimen from Chumar Bakhoor, Pakistan: The deeply blue colored bottom of the main, 21 cm long aquamarine crystal is crossed by a cluster of silver muscovite, on top of which a spray of gemmy, virtually transparent aquamarine crystals grow in the same direction as the muscovite. The top portion of the main crystal has a completely even termination.

The 15 cm long twin crystal has amazing step-growth habits and adds more balance to the specimen. Overall a stunning collector’s piece & all-round fascinating to look at. The water-like color saturation on the aquamarine, combined with the unique growth habits are rarely found in Aquamarine from Nagar.

While big clusters of muscovite are commonly found, it is rare to find such large aquamarine crystals forming on top of the matrix! All in all, a worthy cabinet size collectors’ piece, which is also ideal for displaying in the living-room due to its large size and decorative appearance.

Another interesting detail: A minor Apatite crystal and small specks of quarz are sitting on the bottom of the specimen on the calcite portion, right next to the silver muscovite cluster.
